Each week, I’m going to toss out my predictions for the College Football Playoff committee’s Top 25 before the announcement on Tuesday night.  This is what I think the committee will do, based on last week’s rankings combined with the results of Week 10.  I hit 22 of 25 teams last week (of course, in a different order).

  1. Georgia  9-0
  2. Alabama  8-1
  3. Oregon  8-1
  4. Ohio St  8-1
  5. Cincinnati  9-0
  6. Michigan St  8-1
  7. Michigan 8-1
  8. Oklahoma 9-0
  9. Notre Dame 8-1
  10. Texas A&M  7-2
  11. Oklahoma St 8-1
  12. Wake Forest  8-1
  13. BYU  8-2
  14. Ole Miss  7-2
  15. Baylor 7-2
  16. NC State  7-2
  17. Auburn  6-3
  18. Wisconsin  6-3
  19. Purdue  6-3
  20. Iowa  7-2
  21. Arkansas 6-3
  22. San Diego St  8-1
  23. Pitt  7-2
  24. UTSA  9-0
  25. Kentucky  6-3

I don’t believe this is the week we start to see 4 loss teams hop in, especially with as many 1 & 2 loss teams left, although we’ve seen how much the committee appreciates Mississippi State, then there’s Tennessee, Miami with 2 top 25 wins in a row, Boise St whipped the committee’s #23 team last week, and North Carolina has had some big moments including a win over #9 Wake Forest last week.

Don’t expect a lot of changes at the top this week, but I would expect A LOT of number changes between 6-25.

Differences I had last week:

  • #2 Mich St (was ranked #3)
  • #3 Cincinnati (was ranked #6)
  • #4 Alabama (was ranked #2)
  • #5 Oklahoma (was ranked #8)
  • #6 Oregon (was ranked #4)
  • #7 Ohio St (was ranked #5)
  • #8 Wake Forest (was ranked #9)
  • #9 Michigan (was ranked #7)
  • #13 Texas A&M (was ranked #14)
  • #14 Auburn (was ranked #13)
  • #15 Wisconsin (was ranked #21)
  • #17 Iowa (was ranked #22)
  • #18 BYU (was ranked #15)
  • #19 Minnesota (was ranked #20)
  • #20 Kentucky (was ranked #18)
  • #21 Pitt (was ranked #25)
  • #22 NC State (was ranked #19)
  • #23 UTSA (was not ranked)
  • #24 Houston (was not ranked)
  • #25 Penn St (was not ranked)
  • did not have #17 Miss St
  • did not have #23 Fresno St
  • did not have #24 San Diego St

Gary Segars

Gary began his first website in 1998 as a sophomore in high school, writing reviews of cds and live shows in the Memphis area. He became editor of his college newspaper, then moved towards a career in music. He started the infamous MemphisTider.com blog during the 2006 football season, and was lucky enough to get into blogging just before the coaching search that landed Nick Saban at Alabama. The month and a half long coaching search netted his site, which was known for tracking airplanes, over 1 million hits in less than 90 days. The website introduced Gary to tons of new friends, including Nico and Todd, who had just started the site RollBamaRoll.com.After diving into more than just Alabama news, Gary started up his first installment of WinningCuresEverything.com in 2012. After keeping the site quiet for a while, it was started back up in April 2016. Gary then joined forces with high school friend Chris Giannini and began a podcast during the 2016 football season that runs at least 2 times a week, focusing on college football, NFL football, and sports wagering, and diving into other sports and pop-culture topics.E-mail: gary@winningcureseverything.com Twitter: @GaryWCE
