College Football Spring practice is upon us, and, for a lot of teams, has already started. Weather has been great in the south, and among other areas, so a lot of these teams are getting most of their work done outdoors instead of their indoor practice facilities.
With the expansion of cable sports channels and streaming services, you’re able to watch almost every team that has a spring game, and we’re going to provide where you can watch them all.
SEC Teams are in bold. 13 of the 14 SEC teams will have a spring game televised. Vanderbilt will not have a televised spring game, but have chosen instead to have a scrimmage that is open to the public, complete with autograph sessions and the like. Alabama (ESPN) and Texas A&M (ESPNU) are the only SEC teams that will not be televised on SEC Network.
All times are CT.
Saturday, April 1st
- 10am: Northwestern (Big Ten Network / BTN Online)
- 11am: South Carolina (SEC Network / WatchESPN)
- 12pm: North Carolina St (WatchESPN)
- 1pm: UAB (WatchESPN)
- 2pm: Michigan St (Big Ten Network / BTN Online)
- 3pm: Texas Tech (FSSW+ {DTV: 676-2} / FCSC {Dish: 648} / FSGo Video)
South Carolina and QB Jake Bentley should be fun to watch at 11am, but it’ll be interesting to see what kind of crowd shows up for UAB’s spring game at Legion Field – their first football action since dropping the football program last year – especially since they’ll be charging $5 to get in and $5 to park at Legion Field. I’ve never understood charging for spring games, but some schools view this as a possibility at revenue.
Friday, April 7th
- 6:30pm: Florida (SEC Network / WatchESPN)
Saturday, April 8th
- 11am: Ole Miss (SEC Network / WatchESPN)
- 12pm: Purdue (Big Ten Network / BTN Online)
- 1pm: Auburn (SEC Network / WatchESPN)
- 1pm: Oklahoma (FSSW+ {DirecTV: 676-1} / $SoonerSports.com)
- 1pm: Texas A&M (ESPNU / WatchESPN)
- 1:30pm: Clemson (WatchESPN)
- 2pm: Florida St (ESPN / WatchESPN)
- 2pm: North Carolina (WatchESPN)
- 3pm: Mississippi St (SEC Network / WatchESPN)
Florida on Friday night will be interesting to watch the QB competition. Ole Miss will be interesting to see how interested the fan base is through this NCAA mess since they will not be going to a bowl game this year. Auburn will showcase Jared Stidham (Baylor transfer) for the first time. Clemson won the national championship, but they’re only available on WatchESPN, so seeing what they’ve got at QB after Deshaun Watson will be cool. Florida St is a national title contender, and you know how they’ve got at QB, but who takes over for Dalvin Cook and some of the members of that defense? At Mississippi St, how will the defense look after their first spring practice with former Louisville defensive coordinator Todd Grantham?
Thursday, April 13th

Saturday, April 15th

- 2pm: USC (Pac-12 Network / Pac-12 Video)
- 3pm: Stanford (Pac-12 Network / Pac-12 Video)
- 4pm: Arizona St (Pac-12 Network / Pac-12 Video)
Ohio St returns a TON of talent, including senior QB JT Barrett, who seemed to decline last season. They’ll be interesting to check out. Other than that, there’s Missouri on SEC Network at 1pm, Texas and Tom Herman’s first spring game in Austin on the Longhorn Network at 1pm, and then everyone else is either on the Pac-12 Network (which most people don’t have access to) or online all day. Good day to get outside with the family.
Friday, April 21st
- 6pm: Georgia Tech (WatchESPN)
- 6:30pm: Wisconsin (Big Ten Network / BTN Online)

Saturday, April 22nd

- 11am: Boston College (BCEagles.com)
- 11:30am: Maryland (BTN Online)
- 11:30am: Notre Dame (NBCSN)
- 1pm: Georgia (SEC Network / WatchESPN)
- 1pm: California (Pac-12 Network / Pac-12 Video)
- 1pm: Kansas St ($KStateSports.com)

- 2pm: Penn St (Big Ten Network / BTN Online)
- 2pm: Washington (Pac-12 Network / Pac-12 Video)
- 3pm: Tennessee (SEC Network / WatchESPN)
- 4pm: Rutgers (Big Ten Network / BTN Online)
- 4pm: Washington St (Pac-12 Network / Pac-12 Video)
- 7pm: LSU (SEC Network / WatchESPN)
This is a stacked deck for football all day. In the SEC alone, we’ve got SEC East favorite Georgia, SEC title favorite Alabama, Tennessee begins life after Josh Dobbs with a new inexperienced offensive coordinator and QB, and the first spring game under Coach O down in Baton Rouge under the lights. Along with that, you get to see Washington and Penn St after their conference championship seasons, and what will Notre Dame look like after overhauling their coaching staff.
Saturday, April 29th
- 12pm: Arkansas (SEC Network / WatchESPN)
- 1pm: Oregon (Pac-12 Network / Pac-12 Video)
- 3pm: UCLA (Pac-12 Network / Pac-12 Video)
Not much on the 29th, although I would imagine there might be some other teams added to this, just to fill television slots. Arkansas hasn’t changed much, Oregon starts the Willie Taggart era, and UCLA tries to get Josh Rosen playing at an elite level after missing half of last year with an injury.
